Smoothies featuring banana

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana SmoothieThe ultimate combination, chocolate and peanut butter, in a smoothie! I almost named this Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup smoothie, but that doesn’t sound too healthy.

In order to keep smoothie making fun and exciting I often try to recreate the taste of a dessert or treat. For example, my Mint Chocolate Chip smoothie tastes pretty similar to my favorite ice cream.

One of my favorite treats growing up were Reese’s peanut butter cups, which is the inspiration for this smoothie.

Apple Blueberry Beet Greens Smoothie

Apple Blueberry Beet Greens SmoothieIf you haven’t figured out how to make good use of your excess beet greens, or are looking for a new green to work into the rotation, this smoothie is for you.

While composing this recipe post I was reminded of the not so healthy milkshakes I use to drink after football practice as a youngster. Regular old store bought milk, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate syrup. If only I knew then what I know now.

Special K Protein Green Smoothie

Special K Protein Green SmoothieIn a recent comment on my Blueberry Spinach Green Smoothie recipe a reader revealed their version of this smoothie, with Special K Protein Shake as the liquid base. I’d never heard of Special K Protein Shake and thus looked it up. It’s a weight loss drink by Kellogg that’s far from healthy.

As a matter of fact, if someone snuck some into my home I’d immediately pour it down the drain where it belongs. One glance at the long list of ingredients and you should quickly be able to discern why this weight loss shake is unhealthy.

So, I decided to create my own healthy Special K green smoothie rich in vitamin K and protein that will help you lose weight, and improve your health.
