“I enjoy receiving your smoothie messages and change my recipe periodically based on your suggestions. My recipe right now is as follows:
- 1/2 cup So Delicious unsweetened almond or coconut milk
- 1/2 cup kefir
- 1/2-3/4 cup coconut water
- 1/2 scoop Sun Warrior vanilla protein powder
- 1 tsp. maca
- 1 tbs. chia seeds
- 1 tbs. Bernard Jensen gelatin
- 1 cup frozen organic mango
- 1/2 banana
- 1 cup tightly packed organic spinach or kale
- I drink one 12 oz glass around 5:45 and the remainder for breakfast around 9am.
I feel this routine has improved digestion, skin, nails, & energy and since I began this routine last March I have lost 5 lbs. and kept them off for the most part. However, I only have smoothies on weekdays. I miss other breakfasts and ‘treat’ myself on weekends to steel cut oats, eggs etc. or occasionally something unhealthy. We have an amazing hometown bakery where I live which I cannot resist. That being said, I feel my green smoothie routine allows me to fall off the wagon while still maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I also like to have the smoothie for dinner as well when I feel like I need a boost, usually when my husband is out of town. I try to promote this routine with friends and family and feel that whatever you can do to eliminate processed foods and unhealthy fats, carbs, etc. will undoubtedly prolong and possibly eliminate serious health issues.”
